Dear goodness...

This is yet ANOTHER piece which took forever to finish due to photoshop problems. Im thinking im going to have to reinstall the damn thing just to get it to behave. The first time i did this piece photoshop crashed just as i was doing the final save.... all the work.... a good 2 hours... lost
So i had to start all over again just to get the layers back! As it happens i made a few changes to this second version from the first, and i actually think it turned out better... so i suppose there's always a plus side
There was no pre-idea to this one, it was inspired by the stock

Note: Many people have been asking about why i didnt put snakes in her hair to symbolise the traditional image of medusa...
Well thats the exact reason... thats the traditional way of portraying her. You search medusa on this website and you'll find tonnes of work showing a woman with snakes in her hair, well i wanted something a little different. I painted her hair specifically so it resembled snakes or almost being alive... i wanted to give her a more human quality rather than just being another mythical being. Not to meantion the piece is called medusa complex so that adds more to the interpretation
